Ludowici announced that it had acquired the Mining Division (JS Mining) of Johnson Screens globally (except Africa). 

Johnson Screens are a leading global player in the mineral processing consumables market, supplying a complementary range of product to that of Ludowici for screening and separation applications within the mining and quarrying industry. 

Johnson Screens design, manufactures and markets screening products (stainless steel, polyurethane, rubber and woven wire) and wear liners (chute, SAG, ball and impact mills). 

The business operates in the same geographic markets as Ludowici and has 185 personnel globally. 

The acquisition is an excellent strategic fit for Ludowici as summarised below:  

• Ludowici and Johnson Mining operate in common regions (Australia, North & South America and India), in common markets (mineral processing) and share many customers 
• Acquisition will enable Ludowici to enter new markets (sand & gravel), sell new but related products (woven wire & rubber screens and wear liners) and improve its product mix (consumable/capital products) 
• Significant synergy potential through improving back office efficiencies, increasing sales and service force effectiveness and manufacturing optimisation given the strong product and geographic alignment 
• Johnson products lines will further complement and support the Global Ludowici capital equipment presence The acquisition will enhance both our product and service offerings to our customers and further consolidates Ludowic’s vision to become a leading supplier to the Global Mineral and Industrial markets.
