Together with TÜV NORD Akademie the Center for Fire and Explosion Safety of DMT GmbH & Co. KG held the expert conference "Fire and Explosion Safety in Power Plants" on June 22 and 23, 2010. More than 80 participants took advantage of this two-day meeting of experts to gain an overview of the requirements, solutions and concepts in this complex of themes.

Under the heading "Experts in Dialogue" a forum was set up for planners, constructors and operators of power plants, personnel from professional, in-plant and auxiliary fire services, as well as for fire safety officers and personnel from the domains of maintenance and occupational safety. Acknowledged specialists exchanged worldwide experience and best- practice solutions with international experts and discussed problem-solving approaches.

  • Jindal Steel Power Ltd (JSPL) fully trusts in Hot DRI transport solution from Germany.
After successful installations in Korea, Saudi-Arabia and Australia, AUMUND have now received from MIDREX Technologies an order to deliver the hot DRI transport system for the direct reduction plant of Jindal Steel Power Ltd. in India. The AUMUND conveyor type BZB-H-I, developed for conveying hot direct reduced iron, is equipped with special buckets plus thermal insulation and inert gas system. The two conveyors to be installed at the Jindal Steel Plant with a centre distance of 150 m will be designed for 250 t/h capacity each.

  • Diamond-core (DDH) drilling program has been completed on the Guido and Poa tenements totalling 57 holes for 8,017 metres.
  • Additional infill holes were drilled to assess geological structure and test for extensions to mineralisation.
  • Gold mineralisation at the GUIDO Prospect occurs in multiple, parallel shear zones which currently extend along strike for approximately 3,000 metres.
  • Assay results from a further 17 holes have been received by the Company, with 14 holes confirming mineralisation over a further 800m along strike.

African Aura Mining: Airborne Survey Defines Major Iron Ore Target at Nkout in Cameroon Print E-mail

African Aura Mining Inc. the TSX-V (AUR) and AIM (AAAM) listed exploration to production company focused on iron ore and gold in sub-Saharan Africa announces the results of the recently completed airborne geophysical survey undertaken by New Resolution Geophysics across the Company's Nkout, Ngoa and Akom iron ore projects in southern Cameroon.

Highlights:
  • Nkout defined by a major geophysical anomaly covering at least 8km of strike length
  • Further 12km of targets generated around Nkout, considered to be moderately magnetic
  • Previous grab sampling at Nkout returned up to 68% Fe and averaged 55% Fe
  • Phase one 4,200m 10 hole drilling programme to commence imminently
  • Nkout deposit is strategically well located in an emerging iron ore province:
    • 2.5 billion tonne Mbalam iron ore deposit (located 150km to the south east)
    • Close to the proposed rail route to a port which will service the Mbalam deposit
